![]() If you start giving to many answers the story loses its scare factor because the horror of the unknown is lost. You see I feel like the game not giving defintive answers about what kind of paranormal forces are at work here really makes the game memorable. It's a nice kind of funny way to end a tense game and I would expect nothing less from a game with a concept as silly as killer Furbys. I thought the ending was fun/ tongue and cheek, you have this build up to a final scare which ends up being nothing then you get the ending you expect. I would not be surprised if this game goes viral over the next few weeks. I'm not going to attest to the quality of the game (though I'm enjoying it halfway through), all I'm speaking for here is that it made me feel like the first time I saw FNaF 1 again. Granted, I wasn't even a fan of the series back then like I am now, but I watched the Let's plays when the game went viral. I had to share this with you all, because I haven't experienced this special feeling in such a long time- it made me so nostalgic of the beginning of FNaF again. It becomes pretty clear after the first level that it's not. It's really shocking how perfectly it manages to replicate the feelings FNaF 1 gave me.Īddressing the game being a rip off: It's not. Not knowing what would happen, and something else a lot of us grow up with twisted into something to fear. For the first time since I was initially terrified by the first game, I felt this feeling again. Those two reasons are why I think Tattletail is something special. FNaF 2 comes close, but nothing since the original FNaF has managed to capture that feeling. However, I actually think the slightly less detailed models and scenery of FNaF 1 made it feel like a true homage to that sort of retro culture. ![]() It's not really a secret that Scott's models have improved substantially since the first game came out. And SL is this weird futuristic tech stuff.Ģ - FNaF 1 is the only game in the series to capture that perfect 80s/90s nostalgic feel. FNaF 3 features a rotting corpse and FNaF 4 has machines built for the sole purpose of being terrifying. FNaF 2's robots are either disgustingly withered or hard plastic. See, none of the other games actually have this feeling. And that twisting of something that is normally associated with childhood gave it this distinct aura, and it is special for that reason. These child friendly, lovable characters have been twisted into murderous, emotionless, cold robots. It was horrifying.įNaF 1 captured the feeling perfectly. Hell I have distinct memories of crying at a certain animatronic attraction at one of our local theme parks. There are two reasons that FNaF 1 stands out to me:ġ - Part of what made FNaF 1 so appealing to me (and this feeling has decreased with each addition to the series IMO) is that it felt like the characters were supposed to be lovable. I will do my best to describe what I mean. I guess it's this dread combined with a home-y feel. The first time I played FNaF- i think a lot of us share this feeling actually- I felt this. If you haven't heard, it's called "Tattletail", and it's basically surviving in a house while being hunted by a Furby. Spoilers OFF Spoilers ON Light Mode is not compatible with Hide Spoilers!
